Wednesdays, 8 - 9 am PDT, April & May on Zoom and in-person.
This is a wild and fun mash-up of workshop, creativity coaching, writing retreat, salon. We will re-imagine our creative processes, and get down to writing without overthinking things—with an emphasis on changing our relationship with the writing for life.
These two months are for four to eight people who are willing, curious, and ready to start, continue, or finish a project. If this strikes a chord, and your reaction is: “That’s a terrible idea. What time?”
We have a place with your name on it!
Consider this:
How many grand adventures, surprising experiences, and creative or physical undertakings start with:
HELL NO! TERRIBLE IDEA. Never happening!
In our head, there’s one narrative, and its chock-full of resistance.
In the world, there’s another thing happening, and it’s us showing up and Doing the Thing.
Magic!
You might have another version of this. You’re sitting on a TERRIFIC IDEA, but there’s no time, or now’s not the time, don’t have the interest. Fair enough. Timing matters.
But TIME, and the enough-ness around it—that’s another story. Here’s a hard truth for all of us: We’re not going to live forever. Time is not going to knock at the door, lay out a red carpet, and lead us by the hand to our little S/he Shed in the fairy woods. But, we can lay down our very own creative, practical and playful adventure right here & now. And together.
Just one hour a week for 9 weeks, a group of like-minded yearning creators meeting in a sandbox / playfield / classroom / salon.
This spring, let’s bloom so beautifully that we burst into song.

STRUCTURE
The weeks will alternate between a workshop format (lesson + exercises), and a salon-style hour of conversation, troubleshooting, sharing work, and inspiration.
The Writers’ Studio is focused on moving into a creative habit and dispelling myths around making art, creativity, and befriending the resistances that appear.
If you work in another discipline—fine arts, design, crafts—and would like to join our community, using writing as a way to flesh out ideas and transform creative habits, this will work for you too.
WHERE
On Zoom. I’ll be holding the studios from my home in a Seattle suburb. You’re welcome to join in person if you’re in the area.
